Ives Ensemble (Pays-Bas)
Coproduction Continuum (Toronto) / MNM
An absolute must for connoisseurs: the Ives Ensemble arrives from The Netherlands to perform legendary works of the twentieth century, from Xenakis to Feldman by way of Vivier. Alternating between astounding moments of virtuosity and measures of music that are all subtlety, these eight musicians reveal the full extent of their artistic flexibility! Since 1986, the Amsterdam-based Ives Ensemble has specialized in twentieth-century works for ensemble with no conductor. The group makes regular appearances on the international scene where it has acquired a reputation for excellence.
