Througout the festival season, McGill University’s Schulich School of Music will welcome a number of composers and musicians from here and abroad who will provide hearings of their music and engage in dialogue with young composers during masterclasses.
This is a unique change for Montrealers to get to know German composers Manfred Stahnke and Moritz Eggert, as well as Maura Lanza (from Italy) and Martin Matalon (from Argentina). These events will also be an occasion to discover or rediscover the musical personalities of Michel Gonneville, Chris Paul Harman and Paul Frehner. Lyon-based percussionist Jean Geoffroy will also take part in an event we have dubbed “Percussive Exchanges,” Quebec percussion days organized by McGill University’s Schulich School of Music.
These musical encounters are an excellent way to take advantage of the presence of the many exceptional musicians who will be among us during the MNM festival.
