Coasting with ease between avant-garde musical events and traditional concerts, the Bozzini Quartet was recently hailed by the Irish Times as a, “group that sinks its teeth fully into the music, and plays with irresistible passion.” Profoundly devoted to music as a universal language, these four young musicians communicate their musical sensibility with great ardour. The quartet, classic in formation and balanced, as it were, will be “dislocated” by Mariner and used by Mason as a map of musical memory. In Koering’s work, the impression evoked by painter Francis Bacon’s portraits of various cardinals will be musically transcribed and underscored by violent harmonies.
